Just wanted to say

Songs of the 49th Parallel .... now I love K.d Langs voice....right up there with Eva Cassidy as the two finest female vocalists ever ...but I have been listening to this album again...sheer beauty... A Case Of You is as good a rendition of that great Joni song as anything I have ever heard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLUkuqrucEc

A song that brings me to tears when Joni sings it...even more so with k.d.........

She has a new double album out Recollections.......a must buy

I have I think her first four albums and enjoy each. Saw her live in 1992. The other guy at the show (we met during intermission) and I agreed it was excellent.

 Smiley

She does describe herself as a one hit wonder..Constant Craving.

I don't think she is that bothered about massive sales and the like. She has certainly been in trouble with her record company for not being appearing on all the crap promotional stuff.

Doesn't undermine her fantastic voice or talent though...I kina like that low profile thing. She has the utmost respect from everyone in the business which in some wasy is enough for her.

You're such a bitch......

Due to Canadian Content regulations...KD has had tons of hits here.  She can SING.  A great talent.  But Cdn women have fared well for a LONG time in the music biz.  Anne Murray, Joni Mitchell.  Sara McLaughlan.  Alanis Morrisette.  Shania. And ... What's her face ... the Vegas woman... Celine Dionne.  and Avril Lavigne too  [Generally I'm not BIG on female voices...but there are always exceptions.]

Not a bad track record established by these Canadian artists.  [KD is truly excellent/a cut above]

I do love kd's A Case of You.

But this rendition is my favorite. I think it is one of what I call 'definitive covers' -- the version I will always now hear when I think of this song.

Not a great fan of Diana's singing style but she has a great voice and yes, another superb version of this great Joni song....
